Hearing & Vision Clinic Schedule for 2008-2009

The Ohio
Department of Health administers a specialty vision clinic in
cooperation with the Henry County Health Department to children 0-21
years of age. This hearing clinic is offered 3 times per year and
provides eye examinations at no charge to the family. The
staff includes an optometrist, ophthalmologist, Ohio Department of
Health vision consultant and a public health nurse. After the
examination, the staff makes recommendations that may include
eyeglasses, patching, further tests, medication, surgery or
observation. A local public health nurse provide follow-up. These
clinics are available for children regardless of parents’ income.
Funding is through the Ohio Department of Health’s Bureau of Child
and Family Health Services. Criteria to be seen in this clinic
include:
